Rome day 2

Day two is over and done with. Already! Today we started off by meeting up with my friends from Barcelona who happen to be in Italy as well. We popped by the Trevi fountain so they could throw a coin in and headed on to the colosseum! Well we actually stopped and got vino because we needed wifi to get tickets so this way the view for a bit.

We innovatively downloaded Rick Steve's podcasts so we could get a full audio tour for free (If you are doing any traveling, look them up he has a million and they're very interesting). So we spent about an hour or so walking around there, it was pretty incredible. We also got to tour the roman forum, which was the city centre in Ancient Rome. There are many ruins still there and we walked around there for awhile. 

Our next stop was the Pantheon and Basilica. We wandered are way there and entered the Pantheon for free, and listened to another podcast for more information. We even got to sign the guest book! Our next stop was the Frigidarium gelato place my friend Elyse recommended, and we actually ran into her there! It was the most incredible gelato ever. I will probably go back tomorrow... 

We also mistakenly wandered into Vatican City, but we have tickets for there tomorrow so we didn't do any sightseeing. Now we are hanging out at the apartment, and we booked a wine tasting tour in Tuscany for Wednesday once we arrive in Florence... I'm just a tad excited.
