One month
Hola amigos!
I am writing to avoid packing for Lisbon. I'm super stoked but i hate packing..especially when i have to fit everything into ONE BACKPACK. Anyone who knows me will know this is impossible. I'm the queen of overpacking. Anywayyy I'm really looking forward to my first trip, although there is a 100000% chance of rain all weekend. Oh well, I have an umbrella and a pancho. So lets see what did i do this week..?
Well.. I went to church on Sunday with my friends Brittany and Chelsea and tonight we are actually going to the college youth group they have which they give in English and in Spanish simultaneously! I also am going to try to volunteer with a group of people who visit the Red Zone area of Barcelona and give bible studies to the women in the brothels. Its incredible that this goes on, and I'm not exactly how it works, but it should be an eye opening experience.
-Tuesday was my good friend Abby's 20th birthday! We went to a few local bars to celebrate and had the most scrumptious cheesecake ever. Last night there was another FC Barcelona game, which I didn't go to. But we did go to a bar and watch it with some friends and some of their Spanish friends. After the game we played futbolin which is our foosball. It's way harder here. I did not enjoy losing miserably. Of course I had my early class today so I'm exhausted and my flight leaves at 7 am tomorrow...It may be a long weekend for me.
I'm really starting to improve with my Spanish as of late. I can understand so much more spoken Spanish and my speaking skills are pretty darn good if i do say so myself. My host mom and I joke around a lot. She keeps telling me the best way to improve my comprehension is to find myself a Spanish boyfriend...I told her to hook me up!
I have my first midterm next week in Civilacion y Cultura de Espanola which is in Spanish. Its just 75 questions and I have to memorize 100 dates and names...No biggie.
Well sorry this post doesnt flow well. but this is all for now. I will post after my trip!
Adios!
Ellen
