Arrivederci Roma, Benvenuto Florence!
Soooo I forgot to post about yesterday, so I'll just do it all now!
So yesterday was kind of an icky day, it rained or sprinkled or poured for most of it. We luckily had bought tickets to the Vatican and that all is inside. So that's what we did! We got to skip the line that was 3 city blocks long because it's the 21st century and we bought tix beforehand, so that was awesome. We then made our way through the huge museum. We saw so many cool things, art, tapestries, frescos, and of course, The Sistine Chapel! It was magnificent, but I definitely pictured it differently. It's not as huge as I thought hahaha. But anyway it was incredible! Unfortunately you're not allowed to take pictures of it, and I wanted to respect that, it keeps the allure alive. But here are some pics of the other rooms!
Then we met my friend Elyse from high school, who happens to be studying in Rome for dinner! We went to an AMAZING pizza place called pizzeria ai marmi, I highly recommend it and their suppli's. Then this morning we boarded the train to head to Florence!! We arrived around noon, and then we had a wine tour through the Chianti region of Tuscany. First we stopped to visit a typical Tuscan village and to see a church there. Then we headed to Castello del Trebbio which was a castle that belonged to the Pazzi family way back when. Now it's home of a family who produces EVOO and wine. We toured the castle and then finally got to sample everything! It was delicious! I learned a lot too, and impressed the guide with my knowledge. I may have said it before, but I want to reiterate it, I WANT TO HAVE A WINERY. Hopefully I can get Rick to retire to Italy and teach me how to farm....
Well anyway tomorrow I'm going to Pisa! Here are some pics from today. I'll write soon don't y'all worry!
