FINALLY, I return to Barcelona

So last October, my Barca roomie Stephanie, texts me saying she saw a post that Delta has cheap flights to Europe. I immediately check it out. It looks like tickets are about $400 one way, which is pretty great. Except it was $400 ROUNDTRIP. I book it instantly and tell Steph she has 24 hours to decide, she decided within 30 minutes.

So yeah, we had this trip booked for 10 months.

Of course I just moved to Vegas, so I flew from LAS to DFW on Friday the 25th. We woke up Saturday and were off! Fun fact, Delta does not have as cushy of planes as whatever airline I took abroad the first time. So needless to say it wasn't that comfortable of a plane ride, but for how cheap it was, I wasn't too upset. We also were leaving right before Harvey's rain hit Dallas, so we were a bit nervous we wouldn't get out, but no fear! We made it!
We arrived in Barcelona on the 27th around 1. We went to the airbnb we were staying at, and then decided we'd meet our host mom for dinner! We also took a pit stop at our favorite place ever, the Sagrada Familia.

We also grabbed some tapas and sangria of course. I kept a tally of the sangria's I drank. In the 5 days we were there I had 12. I feel like I easily should've had more.....

The next morning we woke up, went to the beach, went to Park Guell, and just did some exploring.

This was one of our first weekends in Barcelona 3 1/2 years ago!

And here we are now!

We also got to go and meet some of my clients! We met with a tour provider that does Jeep Safaris in the mountains, and a company that organizes Study Abroad Programs.

We spent another day exploring and hanging out with Marta. We loved getting to see how the city has changed, and what has stayed the same. I was the most excited about taking the Metro again!
We then prepared for what would be the craziest day we had on our trip, La Tomatina. I will cover this in my next post!

Besos,
Ellen
