Croatia Part 2

So we go to meet our bus to take us to Split. And our bus was cancelled. Super cool. Luckily they have one that leaves like every 10 minutes so it was only a minor nuisance. Until we got to the border of Bosnia, where we were stuck for about 30 minutes while the Croatian police search through all of the belongings of some dude on our bus. At least it wasn't me!

We arrived in Split on Sep 2, got a quick dinner and went to bed. We had our big excursion to Plitvice Park the next day. And it was Steph's birthday! We woke up early, met our group, and headed out. It was pouring rain. I wasn't too thrilled about being outside in the pouring down rain for 3 hours, but it let up by the time we got there. It also was awesome because the park wasn't crowded at all. But this place is absolutely incredible, and 100% natural. They do not touch anything, cut down trees, or plant anything.

So yeah, incredible.

That night we went to dinner and had the most delicious meal I think I've had in my entire life. Fun fact, Zinfandel grapes are grown in Croatia, so we obviously had to get a bottle as well.

We also sat up on our rooftop and drank Champagne. The views were spectacular!

So The area of Split we stayed in, is literally built into Diocletian's Palace, which is just a little bit cool. They have the cutest little shops set up in the old basement of the palace, and even do reenactments in the Square. The views of the ocean are amazing, and just in general, the city is gorgeous.

So basically, go to Croatia. You won't be sorry.

Besos,
Ellen
