Home for the Holidays
My first semester of junior year is officially over! I took my last final on Wednesday, and now I just await my grades... But in the mean time, I moved out of the sorority house officially =[ It was so bittersweet. I had so many amazing memories living their this past semester, but I know only great things await me in Barcelona!
Saturday morning my best friend flew down to Texas to drive me back home to Illinois. We roadtripped 12 hours from Dallas to Springfield! I think that if we can survive that we are set for life. Although I'm glad to be back with my family, it was horribly difficult to leave all of my friends back at school. There may or may not have been a few tears shed. I know that I will be gone for 5 months, but I haven't decided my summer plans, so it may be August before I see my friends at school again. Luckily my study abroad program has cell phones for rent for us, so I can keep in touch. But it's still hard to go from seeing my sisters and friends all day everyday, to not knowing the next time I will see them. Which also brings me to the next person I will miss more than anything...
OLLIE. My puppy dog is my life. It's incredibly difficult for me to be away from her at school, but now I will be bajillions of miles away from her! But it is amazing to be back with her right now. I wonder if my host mom will let me adopt a dog over there?
Anyway I have a few more things I am excited about for Spain!
1. Sagrada Familia- one of Gaudi's most famous pieces is right next door to my Barcelona family! I can't wait to attend a church service there!
2. Dublin- my roommate and I, as well as a friend I know going to Spain, all decided we will go to Dublin for St. Patty's Day! I don't think there is anything cooler than that!
3. Food-again. Every one I know who has been to Spain keeps talking about the amazing food. Paella, Ham, tapas...I love food!
and that's really it for now! I probably won't post again until I leave so Merry Christmas or shall I say Feliz Navidad!
Besos!
