Almost time!
Well Finals week is officially underway, and its near impossible for me to focus when I know that in just 28 days I will be on my journey to Barcelona for a semester abroad. I can't even begin to list the emotions I am feeling but the strongest ones are definitely excitement and nervousness. I just found out who my host family is and my roommate. My host mother's name is Marta, which is funny since my mom's name is Marty. Marta has 2 sons, one is chemical engineer in Sweden, and one owns a cocktail bar in Barcelona! I also found out my roommate, and she happens to be from Dallas! She has been to Spain before, so she has been telling me all the ins and outs so far!
This whole thing is still pretty surreal for me, I guess I won't get over that until I'm there. I really have no idea what to expect! I think that is one of the main things that makes me nervous..I enjoy making schedules and lists and knowing exactly whats going on, and not knowing what is over there waiting for me is killing me! I know that I will have the time of my life, but the time in between now and then is killer.
I do however know a few things about Barcelona that I am excited for.
1. Siesta. Lets be real, everyone knows its the greatest thing ever.
2. Ham. apparently Ham is a big deal, and there are ham delis there like Starbucks here.
3. Language. I cannot wait to be fully immersed into the Spanish language. It's been a dream of mine for awhile!
4. Soccer. I plan on attending many soccer games while I'm there. I love sports and FC Barcelona just happens to be amazing.
5. Shopping. I've been told that shopping in Spain is amazing and cheap. Cheers to that!
6. Travel. I have so many opportunities to travel while I'm abroad, I will take every one presented to me.
Well I should probably get back to studying....But that's about all I have to say for my first post!
