Hawaii..from 2018.
Low key, forgot I had this for a while. Even though I'm no longer living abroad, I do love to keep this up a bit just for my own personal travel journal. I noticed I have not updated this since May 2018.. So bare with me as I try to remember where all I went and what all I did.
I think after PNW, my next trip would have been Hawaii. This was a work trip, and I was there for about a week. I attended a conference and met with some clients. But I also did my own things and had a ton of fun! Here are some highlights.
1. Huanama Bay
This place has incredible snorkeling, which I didn't partake in.. I just went and sat at the beach for an afternoon, read a book and took in the views. The reefs here are very incredible, and Hawaii goes to great lengths to protect this site.
2. Pearl Harbor - this place speaks for itself. Pearl Harbor has always been special to me, because my dad was a history teacher, and I distinctly remember going to the theaters to see the movie when I was 8 years old. It's still one of my favorite movies of all time. Unfortunately, I couldn't get on the site because of a huge docking issue they were having, so we could only drive by on the ferry. It was very touching to see the site and learn more about December 7th. I highly recommend making the trip.
3. Germaine's Luau
My company graciously paid for me to attend a luau which was phenomenal! There was a hog roasting ceremony, a traditional Hawaiian buffet, and a great show all right on the beach!
4. Iolana Palace
I had asked an uber driver for some recommendations, and she told me I needed to see the Palace. It was awesome! There's so much history in Hawaii and it was fun to learn all about their monarchy and the troubled past.

I had to get some shaved ice obviously!
A traditional Hawaiian meal - Loco Moco and a Mai Tai.
And that's really a wrap for Hawaii!
