Viva Las Vegas
Well everyone, it's time to revive this puppy. And what better time to revive than right before I make one of the biggest changes of my life?!
That's right. I am packing up after 6 wonderful years in Texas, and moving to Sin City. Las Vegas. like, THE Las Vegas.
As most of you know, my brother Steve will be stationed there for a bit. I've been looking to find a new job, and I've always wanted to live somewhere else so I thought what the heck why not hop on the wagon and follow big bro? So low and behold, I applied, I interviewed and I accepted an offer in Vegas. It also just so happens to be what I would describe as my dream job.
I have accepted a position as a Client Success Specialist at a company called Rezdy. Rezdy offers software to tourist companies that manages their bookings and what not. It's a mix between my current Account Management type role and more of a Sales role. I'm so excited to be able to help companies focus on their passion of providing great travel experiences to tourists. I also plan on using their services in my upcoming trip back to Barcelona and Croatia!
So with all that being said, I'm only slightly freaking out. Sure, I've moved before. But weirdly enough moving out of state to go to college seems slightly less daunting that moving states for work and a minor career path change as well.... Totally not freaking out at all. At least I'll have Steve and his friends that are now my friends after many nights spent in San Antonio and Dallas together. I'm so excited and nervous. Also... living with Steve again only gives me a tad bit of anxiety. We both have changed a lot in the past 9 years since we last cohabited. At least now we will both be tried as adults for murder, so killing each other is off the table.
So as I finish up my last week at my current job, I've taken some time to reflect on the things I love most about Texas. Most importantly, all of my friends. This is the hardest part. I have so many great friends from college, work, life etc. It is nice knowing they all are already planning trips out, but it still won't be quite the same. I will also miss all the fun places and things to do. I'm sure I will find my new favorite places, hopefully Vegas has just as many taco places as Dallas does... but even still, I love going out in Deep Ellum, getting brunch at some ridiculously overpriced restaurant, I might even miss Whataburger, even though I still don't get the hype..
Nonetheless, Texas was awesome. It will still be awesome. But just a tad less awesome without me.
PS- If anyone knows anyone renting houses in Vegas. Lemme know. House hunting form 1200 miles away is not the easiest.
See you in Vegas!
