South of France

This past weekend we went to the south of France with my program! We left Friday morning and stopped in Narbonne for a few hours where we did a tour and also got to got to a French market. Then we went to Toulouse where we stayed for 2 days. We had a lot of free time there so we got to do a lot of exploring on our own which is so nice. I'm starting to get sick of always doing walking tours. Half the time you can't understand the guide and they take way too long so it was nice to be able to do what we wanted. We ended up walking all over the city anyway, but it was fun trying to navigate and finding cool places along the way! It was also really fun because we all could hang out together at the hotel which we cant do in Barcelona since we live with families. I forgot what it was like to just sit around with all of your friends and just watch TV or play games (we had to watch the USA v Canada hockey game).

Even though it was really fun we did learn that the french really do hate Americans. They have no patience for us and refuse to speak English so that was interesting..

After spending all of Saturday in Toulouse we left Sunday and headed to Carcasonne which has an amazing old castle we got to explore in. We also went to Coulliere but only spent about an hour there for lunch and headed back to Spain. Over all I really enjoyed France and I cannot wait to go to Paris with Mom and Rick!

Also this past week we went out for my host mom's birthday! 2 of her former students moved back to Barcelona in the summer and I've actually become good friends with them and they came too. Also one of the workers for ISA (my program) also was a former student of my host mom so she came too! It was really fun and the food we had was soooo delicious. My host mom and I bonded a lot last week since my roommate was gone for dinner almost every night. I enjoyed having one on one time and it helps with my spanish conversing skills. I'm really improving!

Thats all i can think of for now!
